Bridges

Norfolk County Council is responsible for about 800 bridges - the majority of highway bridges and culverts in the county.  The rest are owned and maintained by other organisations, such as National Highways for trunk roads, Network Rail for current railway lines and Rail Property for most disused railway lines.

Report a problem

In addition to the faults reported to us, we inspect bridges every two or three years, depending on their size.

Weight restrictions apply on some bridges.
