Stopping smoking can be challenging. But it is our job is to support you every step of the way.

There are many reasons why people smoke such as stress, boredom and socialising. We call these triggers and everyone has their own. Our practitioners will work with you to understand your triggers and help you to manage them without smoking.

How can we help?

Our Stop Smoking services are available, and free, to everyone living or working in Essex, excluding Southend and Thurrock. All you need to do is fill out our online assessment.

We can support you in finding the right treatment, advice and support in various locations across the County including GP surgeries, pharmacies and specialist clinics.

NRT, E-cigarettes and vaping

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (which can include skin patches, chewing gum, inhalators, lozenges, and mouth spray) or consumer products like e-cigarettes can help reduce cravings and manage withdrawal symptoms experienced when stopping.

These products can vastly improve your chances of success, more so when combined with our specialist behavioural support.

Our service also works with a number of Vape stores across Essex. If you'd like to give up smoking cigarettes by using an e-cig or vape, you can get support from one of the shops below.

Medication

Champix, a medicine also called varenicline, is not currently available. It has been withdrawn as a precaution because of an impurity found in the medicine. It's not yet known whether it will be available again.
