As part of our collaboration with Rochdale’s Culture Co-Op, we’re bring our Queer Portraits of Rochdale exhibition back into Rochdale Town Centre, where we’ll be hosting an array of LGBTQIA+ workshops and take the time to listen to what you think is missing from Rochdale and how we can make it happen.

With generous support from the Greater Manchester LGBTQ+ Arts and Culture Network, Touchstones worked with Manchester-based queer photographer Lee Price and LGBTQ+ people in the Borough of Rochdale to capture portraits of queer identities.

During 2021 and 2022 Price met with local people from the LGBTQ+ community to offer wider representation and visibility of these communities. Photographing each sitter in their own home, we worked with them to reflect on their own identity and background, providing us with an insight into their individuality and place. This exhibition celebrates the diversity of LGBTQ+ people in Rochdale and is the beginning of our journey to represent this important community.

Supported by a Progress Bursary from the Greater Manchester LGBTQ+ Arts and Culture Network, an LGBT Foundation project, supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England’
