A group of college students were caught on camera flipping a car at a Madison block party Saturday. It happened at the Mifflin Street block party near the University of Wisconsin Madison's campus.
Tamaran Cook told WISN 12 News Sunday it was her daughter's red Dodge Avenger that got flipped.
"She's one of those children that's always made the right choices, always concerned about other peoples feelings before doing things," Cook said.
Cook thought her daughter, Reigna, was attending a normal, UW Madison party Saturday. Cook says Reigna parked her vehicle in a lot near Mifflin Street before the partying started.
"It's boggling to me to know that people do this type of stuff," Cook said. "A whole bunch of wild animals it looks like."
Reigna was at a party two houses down, when she saw her car destroyed. Cook said the car is a total loss, and insurance won't cover it.
Year after year the Mifflin Street block party results in property damage, medical calls and college students in handcuffs. This year, Madison police said they arrested 80 people, found a downed power line, and an officer was hit by a car.
Cook is left outraged and heartbroken for her daughter. She said Reigna has paid her own way through college, is there on a scholarship, and needed her car to get to her new full time job.
"We can't just afford to take care of everything, so she pays for all of her own stuff," Cook said.
The family has started a GoFundMe to get Reigna a new car.
Multiple videos of people overturning the car have gone viral on social media. Police have not reported arrests for this incident. Cook is asking anyone with information to contact Madison police.
