Garden waste collections

Collection of garden waste is a chargeable service that you need to register for.

Garden waste bins are emptied fortnightly. You can view your collection date on our collection calendar.

Register or renew your garden waste collection

You must register to have your garden waste collected. You can recycle bark, cut flowers, grass cuttings, hedge clippings, house plants, leaves, shrub prunings, twigs and small branches, untreated sawdust and wood shavings, and weeds.

You can renew for the whole year from 1 April 2024.

The garden waste collection service runs yearly, from June. If you are registering for the first time, the charge will be based on the month you are registering - see the table below.

Payment will cover the emptying of one 180 litre bin, every other week, until 30 June each year. You may pay for as many bins to be emptied as you wish. 

You cannot put food waste in your garden bin, so you may want to consider purchasing a food waste composter, more information on this is available on: Reducing your waste and composting.
