Effectiveness of Inclusive Admissions Policy

The request was successful.

Dear Kendrick School,

Please provide the following information.

1. When did Kendrick School introduce an over-subscription criteria for girls in receipt of Pupil Premium (PP)? For the avoidance of doubt please provide the year of admission when this was first applied.

2. Please advise whether this policy has remained in place since it was first applied?

3. For each year since the policy has been in force please provide the following information:
a. The number of applicants who met the ‘qualifying score’
b. The number of those who did not subsequently apply to the school (ie ‘passed the test but did not apply’)
c. The number of PP applicants admitted to the school
d. The number of PP applicants who were admitted to the school _specifically_ as a consequence of this policy.

4. For the two years leading up to the introduction of the policy please provide the following information:
a. The number of applicants who met the ‘qualifying score’
b. The number of those who did not subsequently apply to the school
c. The number of PP applicants admitted to the school

Thanks very much.
Yours faithfully,

James Coombs

This request was made 8/6/18. By law, Kendrick (Girls) School should have responded promptly but at the very *latest* by 6/7/18.

Kendrick School were publicly consulting on a bid for the Selective School Expansion Fund, to expand the school to admit more disadvantaged girls between 7/6/18 and 5/7/18. https://www.kendrick.reading.sch.uk/news...

The information requested relates to the effectiveness of the school's policy for giving preference to disadvantaged girls.

By illegally delaying their response until 18 July 2018, the school prevented information pertinent to the public consultation from being released into the public domain until *after* the consultation had completed.
