The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), on behalf of Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) invites qualified interested firms to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming solicitation for development of the locally led technology transfer action plan and a blueprint for action for the uptake of rainwater harvesting system at the local level in Pakistan. United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on behalf of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) requires the services of an institution to deliver the technical assistance. The overall objective of this technical assistance is to develop the action plan and associated strategies to enhance coconut cultivation in Puttalam district in response to climate change. The overall objective of this technical assistance is to develop a blueprint for action at the local level for the uptake of the best rainwater harvesting technologies and management model by identifying the most appropriate rainwater harvesting system and developing a locally led technology transfer action plan for deployment of the rainwater harvesting system in a selected area in Pakistan. Some of the expected outcome, outputs and activities are; • Development of implementation planning and communication documents • Selection of the target local area and identification of major stakeholders • Identification of the best practices and associated technologies for rainwater harvesting system in the selected area • Development of the locally led technology transfer action plan for rainwater harvesting system in the selected area and a blueprint for action • Capacity building and awareness-raising for sustainable water use in response to climate change • Development of communications materials for sustainable water use in response to climate change . Organization of a workshop for capacity building of local government bodies and local communities in the selected area . Development of a blueprint for action at the local level to adopt the best rainwater harvesting system and management model The complete details of the requirement will be provided in the tender documents that will be issued to bidders after this request for EOI is closed.
