Police in Liverpool believe the killer of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel had been sent by an organised crime gang to murder a rival.
Olivia was shot in the chest five weeks ago when the hitman, who was chasing a convicted drug dealer and burglar, fired twice into her family home.
The target — Joseph Nee, 35 — had barged into the house to escape from the attacker, in a street described by detectives as a “shooting gallery” because it lacked exit points. Moments before, the gunman had fired three shots with an adapted Glock pistol at two men, one of them Nee, as they walked near Olivia’s home.
