Rudhall Manor, to which Admiral Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton retired to evade prying eyes, has gone on the market. If you too have the need for a love nest, it is available for a mere £3.25 million.

The house would command a hefty price tag without its saucy past. It is grade I listed, has sections that date back to the 14th century and is set in the stunning Herefordshire countryside. Its building’s romantic history, though, is likely to add extra appeal with nothing being
