Kate Winslet is sitting in front of a large photo of a very striking peninsula. It is an evocative print. Easy to engage with, but it draws you into its depths. Which, well, is like Winslet herself. The picture was taken by a friend she worked with in 2017 on the set of The Mountain Between Us — “The film I did with Idris” — and, from there, she tells me about a talk she did recently for a school studying Titanic. Somebody asked whether, had Winslet been on the actual Titanic, she would have chosen first class or steerage. She said the latter because they had more fun.
