DOG HORROR
A MAN has died after being mauled by a savage dog inside a house in Derby.
Cops rushed to the scene in Normanton on Saturday morning following reports an "out-of-control" beast had attacked a man.

He sustained serious injuries and tragically died in hospital as armed cops shot the dog dead.
Derbyshire Police confirmed a man, 53, arrested in connection with the incident remains in police custody.
A spokesperson said: "Sadly, the man, who was aged in his 50s, died at the scene. His family have been made aware and our thoughts are with them at this distressing time.
"A dog was also found at the address that was presenting a risk to officers and the public, and it was destroyed at the scene.

"A 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of offences under the dangerous dogs’ act and he remains in custody at this time.
"There continues to be a scene in place at Cameron Road, and there will be an increased police presence in the area as enquiries continue and officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have information.”
Shocked residents on the street told The Sun they would regularly see the victim out walking a "crazy" and "very dangerous" dog.
Ali Ahmed, who runs Cameron General store, on a corner opposite the victim’s home, added "He couldn’t control it.

"[It] black, medium sized and was always pulling on its lead.
“It is so sad and his death has shocked the local community."
A neighbour told how she was woken up by her own dog barking on Saturday morning and warnings by police to stay indoors because “a dangerous dog is on the loose".
The mum said: "We were trapped in our homes all day while cops were here. If we needed to go out we had to sign out and
"It was very alarming and we later heard that officers had shot the dog dead and that today the man had sadly died."

DOG CRISIS
Last month it was revealed dangerous dog attacks have risen by 34 per cent in England and Wales over the past five years.
This week a three-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with head injuries after being mauled by an XL Bully dog, at a property in Rotherham, south Yorkshire.
Officers seized the dog from the home, and one woman, 42, was arrested, but later released on bail.
While Giorgi Fullbirg-Taylor, 10, was attacked in February while playing football with his friends and suffered "severe" bite wounds in a savage attack in Yorkshire.
Two months after the event the youngster is still unable to move his arm properly and is terrified when he leaves the house.
His mum told The Sun Online: "Giorgi is absolutely petrified of even leaving the garden, he is terrified of dogs even on leads, he won't walk near a dog, he screams if one is off lead."
Dog behaviourist Nanci Creedon believes that Britain's dog attack epidemic is about to get worse as we head into the summer.

She warns that a big trigger for dogs is putting them in situations they are not familiar with, such as taking them on day trips, holidays and even summer barbeques.
She told The Sun: "That is when things get dangerous - when people take their eye off the ball and put the dog in unusual situations with hyperactive kids."
