The Box

The Box is open 10am-5pm Tuesday-Sunday and selected Bank Holidays (please see below).

Entry is free! You don't need to book a ticket, unless you'd like to book a space in the Cottonian Research Room.

2024 Bank Holidays and Closures

The Box, Kitchen & Bar, Cottonian Research Room and onsite shop will be:

• Open on May Bank Holiday (6 May)
• Closed on Whitsun Bank Holiday (27 May)
• Open on Summer Bank Holiday (26 August)
• Closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day (24-26 December)
• Open on 27, 28 and 29 December
• Closed on 30-31 December and 1 January

The Box Kitchen & Bar

The Box Kitchen & Bar is open 10am-4pm (last food orders at 3pm) Tuesday-Sunday and selected Bank Holidays (as detailed above).

The Cottonian Research Room

Available as a research space all day on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (10am-1pm and 1.30pm–4.30pm) and afternoons (1.30pm–4.30pm) on Thursdays, Fridays and selected Saturdays throughout the year.
