Planet Happy Smiles

We are Karen & Alison from Planet Happy Smiles. We have a combined 40 years of teaching experience in Kindergarten. Karen has also taught 2nd Grade/All Subjects and is currently teaching Pre-K. Alison has also taught 1st grade! We have taught professional development for our district and also written curriculum for the kindergarten grade level. We are both GT and ESL certified. We both teach in a variety of ways to meet the differentiated needs of our students! We teach whole group for mini lessons, read alouds, etc. We teach small group to help kids with specific needs in reading, writing, math, etc. We teach 1-on-1 for individualized needs, We try to make our learning hands-on and fun for all the kids!

Karen graduated from Texas State University with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies in Education. Alison graduated from the University of Houston with a BS in Elementary Education. She received her Master's from U of H in Early Education. Karen and Alison are both GT certified and ESL certified. We both continue to grow as educators each year through professional development, book studies, and learning from our peers.
