Demand Assessment Reports (DAR) Publication – 10 April 2024

    DAR TAP, SRG and DESFA

Today, TAP, Snam Rete Gas and DESFA are publishing the Demand Assessment Report, marking the end of the Demand Assessment Phase of the 2023 Market Test, launched on 3rd July 2023. The DAR concludes that, based on the non-binding demand indications received, the TSOs will proceed to the next phase of the Incremental Capacity Process and will commence the Coordinated Design Phase, with an intention to publish the draft Project Proposal for Public Consultation as per the preliminary timeline included in the DAR.

    DAR TAP and IGB

Today, TAP and IGB are publishing the Demand Assessment Report, marking the end of the Demand Assessment Phase of the Incremental Capacity Process, launched on 3rd July 2023. The DAR concludes that, based on the non-binding demand indications received, the TSOs will not proceed to the next phase of the Incremental Capacity Process and will not commence the Coordinated Design Phase.

The DAR documents are published below under the "Non-binding phase downloads".

TAP, SRG and DESFA joint announcement and updates on the 2021 and 2023 Market Tests – 18 January 2024

In line with Section D.1 of TAP, SRG and DESFA Project Proposal for the second Binding Phase of the 2021 Market Test, as approved by the Italian, Greek and Albanian National Regulatory Authorities and published in October 2023, the TSOs are hereby jointly informing the market that the 2021 Market Test is closed.

The TSOs confirm that they are proceeding with the relevant projects required for making the 1.2 bcm/year incremental capacity, pursuant to the first Binding Phase of the 2021 Market Test, available to the market, in line with the commitments received.

This first step of expansion reinforces the Southern Gas Corridor’s significance for the EU’s security of energy supply and paves the way for further expansions, which can be achieved through participation in the next Market Tests.

Moreover, TAP, SRG and DESFA have launched the 2023 Market Test in July 2023, in line with the CAM NC timeline. The 2023 Market Test is still ongoing and the TSOs open a Revision Window for the Non-Binding Phase of the 2023 Market Test between 19th January and 2nd February 2024 to allow all interested parties to either submit new Non-Binding Demand Indications and/or to revise the ones already submitted between July-August 2023 during the Demand Assessment Phase of the 2023 Market Test.

The revision of the Non-Binding Demand Indication has to be performed through the submission of an individual Revision Form to the relevant TSO to the indicated email address, as follows:

The submission of a new Non-Binding Demand Indication to the relevant TSOs has to be made according to the procedural details indicated on the websites of each TSO, as follows:

The above revisions and/or new submissions of the Non-Binding Demand Indications will be included by the TSOs in the common Demand Assessment Report for 2023 Incremental Capacity Process of next publication.

Joint statement of TAP, SRG & DESFA on the 2023 Incremental Capacity Process

    23 October 2023

TAP, SRG and DESFA have launched the 2023 Market Test (Incremental Capacity Process) in July 2023, in line with the CAM NC timeline.

The 2023 incremental cycle is a separate process from the second Binding Phase of 2021 Market Test organised by TAP, SRG and DESFA. To mitigate any potential and unintended consequences of the two overlapping Market Tests, the Interested Parties will be given the opportunity to revise the already submitted 2023 Non-Binding Demand Indications within 2 weeks from the publication of the outcome of the second Binding Phase of the 2021 Market Test (Revision Window), which is expected by 18 January 2024.

TAP, SRG and DESFA, will thereafter give the opportunity to all Interested Parties to revise their Non-Binding Demand Indications within 2 (two) weeks from the above-mentioned publication. This revision will be possible by submitting the respective revised Non-Binding Demand Indication forms to TAP, SRG and DESFA.

Currently, the Non-Binding Demand Indications received by the TSOs would lead to a Demand Assessment Report (DAR) that concludes on the start of the technical design for an incremental capacity project in the coordinated design phase. The TSOs will proceed to these next steps of the 2023 Market Test, only after the closing of the Revision Window whereby interested parties have the possibility to revise their Non-Binding Demand Indications.

In light of the above, the TSOs will produce a common DAR for 2023 Incremental Capacity Process, intending to make it publicly available by February 2024.

Launch of the 2023 Market Test - Non Binding phase

On the 3rd of July 2023, TAP, in coordination with adjacent TSOs, is launching the 2023 Market Test under Guidelines for the 2023 Market Test of TAP AG, as approved by the Italian, Greek and Albanian National Regulatory Authorities.

Please note that this new incremental process is separate from the second Binding Phase of the 2021 Market Test, which TAP, SRG and DESFA intend to perform in the second half of 2023, upon the approval of the Project Proposal by the Italian, Greek and Albanian NRAs.

Today, TAP invites all stakeholders and interested parties to participate in the Non-Binding Phase of the 2023 Market Test by submitting a duly filled out Registration and Non-Binding Demand Indication Form and supporting documents, as required, until 28 August 2023 to the email address: market.test@tap-ag.com

TAP invites Interested Parties to submit Non-Binding Demand Indications to TAP, expressing interest for non-binding Capacity Requests and/or non-binding Connection Requests, as per the Guidelines and the Non-Binding Phase Notice.

For information, the current list of IPs, as well as points subject to non-binding Connection Requests are shown on the map below:

In addition to these points for which interested parties can express non-binding Capacity Requests, TAP accepts, throughout the duration of the Market Test, non-binding Connection Requests for new point(s) in Greece or Albania.

For the submission of Non-Binding Demand Indications at TAP’s interconnection points with adjacent TSOs, interested parties are encouraged to also follow the incremental capacity processes of SRG, DESFA and ICGB, as indicated on their websites:

Interested Parties will be given the opportunity to revise their Non-Binding Demand Indications within 2 weeks from publication of the capacity allocation results of the second Binding Phase of the 2021 Market Test.

Therefore, please note that the Demand Assessment Report for 2023 incremental process is intended to be published after the end of the second Binding Phase of the 2021 Market Test.

All other details regarding the 2023 Market Test can be found in the “Guidelines for 2023 Market Test”, in the “Non-Binding Phase Notice” and other related documentation published below.

TAP will keep updating this webpage for further details on the timeline, depending on the developments for the second Binding Phase of the 2021 Market Test.

We look forward to hearing from you!
