This is a prestigious scholarship programme for high-achieving students in the United States who wish to study in Wales. It has been introduced by Global Wales – a partnership of Universities Wales, the Welsh Government, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) and the British Council.
The Awards are part of the Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship Programme, which enables outstanding American students of limited financial means to study overseas for up to one academic year as part of their undergraduate studies. It is open to applicants at accredited US higher-education institutions, and enables students to earn academic credit while studying at any Welsh university.
Award holders receive a study grant of up to US$5,000, to be used toward tuition, housing, travel, and related costs for up to one academic year. Interested students are welcome to contact their campus study abroad office or visit the Gilman Scholarship website.
