Sing for the King!

‘Sing for the King’ is an open invitation from The Royal School of Church Music for all choirs to join in song to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III, by singing a new anthem, available now.

The Mountains Shall Bring Peace, which is suitable for all choirs, was composed by acclaimed singer and composer Joanna Forbes-L’Estrange taking words from the psalms. Suitable for use in a range of settings, it has enough grandeur for large choirs to use on formal occasions, while its accessible melodic sweep lends an intimacy that will be enjoyed by smaller groups and gatherings.

There are three versions of the music: SATB+piano, SATB+organ; and unison voices with piano. The accompaniments are interchangeable. Those not wishing to learn the full five-minute piece can still join in the project by learning the broad, hymn-like melody of the closing section, making it suitable for younger and/or less experienced singers to participate in a performance of the whole piece.

The Mountains Shall Bring Peace is available as a download pack, or as printed copies. For full details, and for a taster of the music, click HERE.
