Join us at Rotherham Civic Theatre as we celebrate Rotherham’s LGBTQ+ communities!
This event is planned and delivered by Flux Rotherham’s Festival Makers and Children’s Capital of Culture as part of the build-up to WOW Rotherham. WOW Rotherham is a celebration of women, girls, trans, and non-binary communities in Rotherham, taking place in the town centre on Saturday 10th June 2023. Join us there!
The evening will be filled with brilliant speakers with inspirational stories, including stories from the creators of Andro & Eve, a queer arts organisation from Sheffield! We will also have live performances throughout the evening by inspiring artists within the community.
If you want to get creative yourself, join in by designing your very own badge, completely unique to you! Or why not join in with some screen printing and take home a personalised WOW product. This fun and friendly all-ages event will have something for everyone to enjoy.
We will also be joined by Hillsborough Bookshop, who will have a bookstall in the Café Foyer of Rotherham Civic Theatre, providing reading materials for people to learn about the diverse representation in literature. We hope to also be joined by MESMAC, providing personal advice, resources and private support sessions.
Whilst this is an event open to all ages, sensitive topics may be discussed or advertised in the Main Bar area of the theatre. We want to ensure the event is a safe and inclusive space for all attendees and that everyone feels comfortable with any subject matter. We advise that our younger attendees/parents/guardians are aware of this before the event.
While this is a free event, participant numbers are limited by the size of the venue. For that reason, admission will be on a "first come first served" basis and depends on the number of current participants.
