Danna Paola Says She’s Finishing Her New Album and Getting Ready to Drop Another Song

The pop princess called 2023 "one of the most beautiful years" of her life on the red carpet with Rolling Stone

Danna Paola is capping off the biggest year of her career as a host of the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards. Earlier this year, the Mexican pop star toured the U.S. for the first time while teasing her next album. Paola caught up with Rolling Stone ahead of the awards on the red carpet and talked  about her full-circle moment in Seville, Spain and her new music on the way.

After conquering Mexico as a children’s telenovela star, Paola crossed over to the mainstream thanks to her starring role in the first two seasons of the sexy Netflix hit Elite. She played the resident bad girl Lu in the series that was based in Madrid. Now she is back in Spain to host the Latin Grammy Awards.

“I was here for the premiere of ‘Elite’ three years ago,” she says. “This is my first time being here for a week. It’s been incredible!”

Back in August, Paola kicked off the U.S. leg of her XT4S1S Tour. She channeled Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera in the 2000s as danced to and belted out her biggest hits. Paola visited major cities like Los Angeles, Miami, and New York before wrapping the tour in September.

“It was my best experience ever!” she says. “I had such a great time. The tour has been a place to train my instrument [my voice]. I have become much stronger.”

Since returning with euphoric “XT4S1S” last year, Paola continued to tease her next album with the singles “1Trago” and the deeply personal “Tenemos Que Hablar.” She promises that her fans don’t have to wait much longer for the LP or more music.

“Now I’m finishing my album that is coming next year,” she says. “A new song is coming too before the year ends. 2023 has been one of the most beautiful years of my life.”
