Apply to be a Norwich Market trader

If you wish to make an enquiry or apply to be a stallholder please complete the application form giving as much detail as possible about the proposed business offer and a member of the team will contact you.

Please note that at this moment in time, we do not have any stalls available for let.

You are still welcome to apply and you will be added to our waiting list.  When a stall becomes available, the applications on our waiting list will be assessed and the successful applicant contacted.  Applications are assessed based on the strength of application and our balance of goods policy, not on a first-come-first-served basis.

 Market trader application form

Who can apply?

As long as you are over 18, anyone can apply to be a market stall holder. However, we need to make sure there is a broad mix of products and services on offer.

Cost

This varies depending on the position of your stall – those in prime locations pay more rent. You can expect to pay from £185 to £500 per month. You’ll also need to pay service charge and business rates.

Insurance

Stall holders are required to have public liability insurance.

Licensing

You don’t need to have a licence to trade on the market.

Trading hours

All stalls should be open for business for a minimum of five days per week. One of these must include a Saturday, except in exceptional circumstances and by prior arrangements.

The market on the whole is not open on Sundays. However, provision may be made for traders who wish to open on this day. The same also applies to bank holidays.

Length of contract

Five years, with a three month notice period.
