FAQs For Businesses

If we haven’t already created a profile for your business, you can Suggest your business in just a few quick steps.  We will just need a few details from you to verify your business including contact details and any website, social media or directory listings that will help us verify you faster. Take a look and see if your business is already listed or suggest your business here

There are no upfront costs and Myndy takes just a small transaction fee for each voucher purchased.

Your customers make a wishlist of their favourite businesses to share with their friends and family so customers from anywhere in the UK can now spend money with you.

If you already have your own voucher system, you can still accept a Myndy payment and send your customer details of how to access their voucher.

There are no upfront costs so why not give Myndy a try and tap into the desire to spend locally.

You scan vouchers using a simple app on a smart phone called scan.app.  Once your business is verified you will be able to connect smart phones to your account by scanning a barcode that is unique to your business.  Your unique barcode will be found on your Myndy account page. Once your device (you can connect as many as you like) is setup you can start scanning vouchers.

You can print the unique barcode for your business and keep it behind the counter so that your colleagues can authorise their phones to redeem vouchers without needing access to your Myndy account.

Each voucher has its own unique barcode and once it is scanned it will be shown as redeemed within your Myndy account, so you can easily keep track of which vouchers have been spent.

When a customer buys a voucher their payment is held by Stripe (an independent secure payment system). Similar to PayPal they are the payment system behind major online platforms such as John Lewis, Shopify, Kickstarter, Deliveroo and Uber so you know your money is safe.

Signing up with Stripe is simple! – takes just 15 minutes with no commitment. You can do it as part of the process of setting up your Myndy profile or at https://stripe.com/gb/payments

As part of the process to setup your profile you can login and connect an existing Stripe account so that all payments are safely transferred over to you.

You can find our Terms and Conditions here. All vouchers are subject to these Terms and Conditions so that all customers know what they will get at the point of purchasing a voucher.

If you have concerns about any of our Terms and Conditions, please send us a message and we’ll be happy to discuss them further with you.

You can scan vouchers at scan.app.  Once your business is verified you will be able to access the app and associate your smart phone by scanning a barcode that is unique to your business and can be found on your Myndy account page. Once your device is setup you can start scanning vouchers.

This will record the voucher as having been spent within your Myndy account, so you can easily keep track of which vouchers have been redeemed already.

The voucher could be classified as a single-purpose voucher or a multi-purpose voucher depending on whether the available goods or services you offer are at a single rate of VAT. A single-purpose voucher is taxed at the point of purchase, whereas a a multi-purpose voucher is taxed when the voucher is redeemed, depending on the rate of the goods or services chosen. Yes, customers can choose to buy vouchers now to redeem with you once you’re business reopens.
Email us at [email protected] with the name of your business, the email address currently associated with your account and what you want to change it to. If you can email us from the current email address we already have for your account that will allow us to verify who you are much quicker.

FAQs For Listers

The business will only know how many people have favourited them or added them to a wishlist, they won’t have access to your personal information. However if you want to let the business know about your support for them, why not share your list on social media. For more information about how Myndy processes your personal information please see our privacy policy.

You can share your list on all major social media platforms or via email.

No, you can spread the word about as many independent businesses as you want.

You can add as many Myndy Wishlists as you like and name, edit them or delete them and keep track of what you are asking for.

FAQs For Gifters

Each voucher can only be used once but using the super easy “Split” voucher feature you can make up just the right amount before you spend.  So if you have a £20 voucher for your favourite cafe and you need to spend £7.50 you can create a voucher on the spot from your £20 voucher which will then be split into 2.  You then pay your bill for £7.50 and you still have £12.50 to spend next time!

We use Stripe (an independent secure payment system) to process your payments. All major credit/debit cards are accepted by Stripe.  Stripe are used by some of the biggest platforms on the planet including deliveroo, salesforce.com, squarespace, reddit, spotify and many, many more.

When you buy a Myndy voucher it is delivered to your account on Myndy.  When you go to your account page you can access your vouchers, your orders, your Wishlists and your profile. From here you can send vouchers on to your friends and family with a personalised message.

When your order is complete, your vouchers will usually appear in your account within 20 minutes (if the business isn’t yet verified on Myndy it may take a little longer for them to accept your payment but don’t worry, no money will leave your account until the business is all set up and happy to send you your voucher).  Once you have your voucher, you can choose to send it to the lucky recipient whenever you want and they will receive them almost instantly.

Vouchers can be printed, but the QR codes regenerate every 12 hours for security reasons, so we recommend having the voucher on screen in case the printed code expires before you come to use it.

Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date the transaction is completed.

Some of the lovely people we’ve spoken to during our research on how Myndy can help support small businesses, asked us if they can buy a voucher but donate it straight to the business.  The simple answer is “Yes you can!”

During Lockdown at the beginning of the pandemic, lots of people had money still coming in as normal but nowhere to spend it.  They said they would have loved to be able to “pay it forward” to the businesses they would usually have been buying from and they didn’t even want anything in return other than to know that these businesses would still be there when this is over.

If you want to use Myndy to show some support to a business that has had to close and now close again, and you don’t want anything in return, simply buy a voucher and then “DONATE” it from your account.  The voucher will be marked as redeemed and the business will be able to keep the money.

We are also looking at including social enterprises, charities and not for profits on Myndy so you can also pay it forward to an organisation that is working to improve your local community too.
