Unveiling the Effects of Digital Media on Affective Processes
Our minds and bodies are in constant search for emotional cues. When we interact using applications like Zoom, Slack, or Miro, those cues can take many different forms.
How do these tools' capabilities shape the affective processes that normally structure interpersonal interaction during collaboration?
This is one of the questions I am passionate about. Employing laboratory experiments, qualitative interviews, and social media analytics, my research uncovers the hidden layer of collaborative communication: our emotions.
Uncovering the affective layer of
online collaboration
Media Affectivity
Existing frameworks help capture the cognitive capabilities of digital media. Still, we also need to grasp the affective aspects of those tools.
Mood Synchronicity
Teams assume transferring knowledge is a key driver of performance. They often overlook the emotional vessel that is equally critical.
Technorelief
Organizations are familiar with technostress. Yet, focusing on digital capabilities that help cope with work stressors is equally promising.
