About us
The Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter is a voluntary membership and assessment scheme which has been created to help deliver good jobs with opportunities for people to progress and develop, along with a thriving and productive economy. The Charter aims to improve employment standards across all GM employers regardless of size, sector or geography. The Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter has a tiered structure, made up of Supporters, Members and Advocates. Supporters Employers that support the aim of the Charter and have made a commitment to improving practice in all characteristics of good employment. Members Employers that have made the Supporter Commitment and meet the membership criteria in all characteristics of the Charter. Advocates Individuals that excel in characteristics of good employment and share their expertise with others to support the aim of the Charter. The Charter has set out seven characteristics of good employment: • Secure Work • Flexible Work • Real Living Wage • Engagement & Voice • Recruitment • People Management • Health & Wellbeing Organisations – including businesses, public sector bodies, service providers, the third sector, and voluntary and community organisations – can sign up to the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter as Supporters, with the goal of becoming Members and Advocates. By progressing up the tiers, organisations will be able to meet higher employment standards. At the Charter we recognise good employment is a journey, not a destination. We support employers wherever they are on their journey – whether it’s committing to raising standards, developing good employment, elevating practices further, or mentoring others to do the same.

Ensuring employability opportunities are accessible to all is crucial, yet navigating the most effective strategies may be challenging. It intends to provide employers with good practice advice on making the employment experience inclusive, equitable, and fulfilling for d/Deaf and disabled people and those with long-term health conditions. At our launch event, we will be joined by a panel of speakers, which will be followed by roundtable discussions related to the guide. Sign up: https://ow.ly/RoMq50RFNQ1
