Why authentic communication matters

- You're probably here because you want to be a great communicator, one of those people that can connect with anybody, navigate tricky conversations, and learn what matters to people, all with consummate ease. But with so many new stories and social media posts announcing how people, organizations, and brands are getting it wrong, we're becoming increasingly aware that it can be tough. Now more than ever, a company's culture is everyone's responsibility. But don't worry, I'm here to help you out. I'm Professor Jonathan Wilson. I started my career in advertising and as a musician before later moving into academia and consulting. I have two doctorates, I've written over 200 pieces of work, given over 100 conference talks, and traveled to about 40 countries. I've received a Top Voices award from LinkedIn several years in a row now, and I'm hoping that I can use all of these experiences to help you communicate better with even more purpose, personality, and passion. This course is about finding your voice in a culturally diverse workplace. We'll explore what it means to be authentic in a way that celebrates who you are, resonates with others, elevates the importance of cultural differences, builds confidence, and ultimately energizes everybody. Now, it may take you a while to develop competence and expertise in these areas, but that's true of all of us. Lean in and enjoy the odyssey of discovery.
