An overview of overwhelm

- Feeling overwhelmed is a natural part of a healthy life. After all, life happens fast, and things are constantly changing. And while it's exciting to have so many opportunities every day, it can also feel like it's just too much at times. Some stress or pressure can by really helpful, like physical exercise. The key to making it work in your favor is making sure it's the right amount at the right time, and that you don't overdo it. By watching this course you're already taking an important first step, and I'm really glad to be here with you. I'm Heidi Hanna, and I'm a student of stress and overwhelm. I guess I'm also an expert, but I have to tell you that the only way you really become an expert at anything is being challenged by it just enough to want to keep figuring it out. Which is why I'm here with you right now. Like you, I deal with overwhelm, and I often get frustrated, because I know what I should be doing, and yet, I still get stuck sometimes. And it's not just us. I recently surveyed more than 35,000 people, and found that the number one stressor people deal with every day is the feeling that there's not enough time to get it all done. But the good news is, there are many small steps we can take to relieve the pressure of overwhelm and disrupt the patterns that keep us feeling stuck. And the strategies I'm going to share with you in this course will give you more clarity, confidence, and capacity, so that when overwhelm tries to creep back into your life, you'll have the ability to move through it more quickly and more effectively.
