International Maritime Pilots' Association (IMPA)’s Post

Today marks the beginning of the IMPA Safety Campaign! We strongly encourage all Maritime Pilots to report both compliant and non-compliant transfer arrangements. Your active involvement is essential for enhancing safety! Submit your reports here ➡️ https://survey.impahq.org/ Have you downloaded the IMPA Pilot Ladder Survey App yet? Are you ready for the IMPA Safety Campaign/Survey 2023? When: 1 – 15 October 2023 What: Report compliant and non-compliant boarding arrangements experienced during the survey period. We encourage every maritime pilot to report on their experiences during at least one period of duty during the survey period. All reports are treated anonymously and are used only for the purpose of improving maritime safety. How: The IMPA Survey App can be downloaded from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Password for the survey is available from your national association. Why: The lived experience of maritime pilots on duty is a vital source of data used by IMPA to promote a reinvigoration of the safety culture around pilot transfer arrangements. Our most recent success is using the data to enable agreement that IMO will amend SOLAS regulation V/23 and its associated recommendations and to shape the approach to this work.
