I think - no, I know - that there is a lot of misconception around IP, and particularly when it comes to patents. This is all so visible when patents hit the headlines, as they have in recent months in relation to covid vaccines and treatments. Are patents bad? Why is the press mentioning them? Why are they important? Would we have vaccines without huge collaboration, massive drivers, and IP rights? As patents hit the mainstream media headlines, we took a look at some of the subtleties and positives that might be being missed...
