Leading a team is a privilege; seeing that team win is an honour. Just under 7 years since Finastra was born, this week we were recognized by the Financial Technology Report as the #1 Banking Technology Provider in the world! Today, with ~8.000 customers using our banking software in ~120 countries, served by ~7.000 proud "Finastronauts" the future is very bright indeed... Onwards and upwards! Finastra has just published our annual State of the Nation survey for 2023 and it's a very interesting read. Firstly, I’m delighted to see such a positive outlook on the future of #financialservices, as revealed in our annual research; 87% of professionals at global institutions say they are personally excited about the rapid pace of cultural and technological change, and it’s a feeling we share here at Finastra. Secondly, there are of course challenges - economic constraints included - but the data shows real interest and action around #BaaS and #GenAI which have the power to transform our industry and the customer outcomes we provide. Of note were: 83% of professionals agree that their institution is interested in generative AI 26% have already improved or deployed gen AI technology in the last 12 months 48% of institutions have either deployed BaaS or improved their capabilities in this area in the last year By combining modern Software and technology with a continued cultural shift towards contextual and conscious banking, we believe that we will continue to see an acceleration in the adoption of open finance, and all the potential socioeconomic and sustainability benefits that "open" can unlock. It's always nice to be recognized, especially when it's a surprise. Having spent the last few days in beautiful Lisbon, kicking off our new financial year with our GKO for the whole company, our GSK for the global Field organization, and then recognizing our top ~130 achievers for our prestigious Diamond Club award (well done winners!!), it was very nice this morning when someone pinged me to point out that Finastra had picked up the award as the #7 Financial Technology CEO in the world (2023)... Every child should have the opportunity to learn computer science. As a financial technology company, Finastra is a huge supporter of the work Code.org does to teach young children about the importance of coding in today’s world, opening their eyes to career opportunities in STEM. To date we’ve supported over 20,000 students globally through basic coding sessions at our offices (via Hour of Code programs), and I believe wholeheartedly that computer science should be included in national curriculums around the world to help better prepare our next generation for the future and foster greater inclusion.
