Great news from the European Parliament! 🗳️ Three weeks ago, the Net-Zero Industry Act (NZIA) was adopted in plenary by the Members of the European Parliament. This is a very positive development for the #greenhydrogen industry and for us, at Battolyser Systems.   What do you need to know about the #NZIA?   🌱 NZIA sets a benchmark of reaching a supply capacity of 40% of the EU’s annual deployment needs for net-zero technologies necessary to achieve the EU’s 2030 climate and energy targets and to capture 15% of the global market value for these technologies. There is a clear target for installed electrolyser capacity: to reach 100GW in #Europe by 2030.   💰 Renewable energy auctions, like the Hydrogen Bank, will now include non-price criteria like sustainability and resilience (including NZIA).   🚀 To stimulate investments, the Act also recognizes “Net-Zero Strategic Projects” essential to the resilience and competitiveness of the EU. This means that National authorities can directly award grants to these projects if they improve resilience – for example, no reliance on countries outside the EU for sourcing specific components.   Why is it relevant?   1. Unlike conventional PEM/SOEC electrolysers, Battolyser® does not require any Critical Raw Materials. It only requires globally abundant iron and low-grade nickel, offering low-risk supply chains; 2. We can’t wait to see you there!  💡 The whitepaper contains ideas collected from the H2ckathon conference with over 40 participants and 20 organisations, and presents them with the support of techno-economic modelling. 🌍 It was a huge pleasure to collaborate on it and we'd like to share the insights with the entire #GreenHydrogen sector to continue the productive discourse and drive the green energy revolution forward! 💚 Here’s a sneak peek: 🔍 We identify and describe 3 conflicting perspectives (system operator, project developer and offtaker) that should be addressed in a hydrogen-backed system, and propose how to bring them together leveraging flexible operation. 💰 We model and discuss profitability levers impacting hydrogen price, CapEx and offtake requirements. 💪 Electrolyser flexibility and smart energy trading can provide the same amount of hydrogen with lower LCOH compared to baseload and unlock green hydrogen projects. ⏰ Flexible electrolysers will be less affected by the switch from monthly to hourly correlation. #Battolyser® #BattolyserSystems #H2ckathon #GreenHydrogen #WorldHydrogen2024

In his vast experience he has built and transformed finance and business control teams, led restructurings and managed digital transformations in family owned, listed and private equity backed companies.
