One step closer to the #Moon! 🌑 #TeamAirbus can tick an important task off their list, the #ESM-3 now has its main engine✔️ The Orbital Manoeuvring System Engine (OMSE) - repurposed engine from the iconic Shuttle programme, which was successfully installed and extensively tested in the last few weeks - will power the #Orion spacecraft and bring the astronauts to the lunar gateway during the Artemis III mission! In our cleanrooms, our engineers have to be as meticulous as can be, considering each ESM requires the integration of more than 22,000 elements🧩🤯 ESM-3 is now in the final stages of construction and will be shipped over to NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Kennedy Space Center this summer. 📽️Gimbal testing to check the agility and stability of the engine

No, this breathtaking view of Jupiter wasn't taken by an astronomical satellite or an Earth-based telescope, but by our satellite #PléiadesNeo!🛰️ The Pléiades Neo satellites are usually exclusively focused on Earth, capturing every inch of our planet in great detail. But this breathtaking image of the giant planet Jupiter - where European Space Agency - ESA's satellite JUICE 🧃 is headed to find out if life could happen elsewhere - showcases the very high resolution capabilities of our satellites.

First polarised images of Earth from climate satellite PACE!🛰️🕶️ Installed on NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration climate satellite PACE (Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud and ocean Ecosystem), the Airbus-built instrument SPEXone looks at our planet's atmosphere from an altitude of about 700 km! Since its launch earlier this year, PACE and the aerosol measurement and tracking instrument SPEXone, sees the polarised light reflected back from the Earth's surface, with satellite images compiled from the hundreds of orbits SPEXone has made around the Earth🌍 These images enable scientists to distinguish the size and type of small particules suspended in the air, which when combined with climate models helps to understand their impact on global warming🌡️ 📸 SPEXone measures to what extent the sunlight is being polarised ©️SRON

🛰️Happy 1 year anniversary, JUICE!🎉 Can you believe it's been a year already?🚀 Since its launch in 2023, the Airbus-built European Space Agency - ESA spacecraft has travelled more than 951 million kilometresers, getting closer everyday to Jupiter's three largest icy moons, in search of the possibility of life beyond Earth! 🔭 But JUICE still has a long journey ahead, it is planned to enter orbit around Ganymede in 2029, becoming the first spacecraft to study this mysterious moon up close. One year closer to Jupiter !🌌 Read how JUICE is searching for life on Jupiter’s icy moons: https://lnkd.in/eHBwNxWR #SpaceExploration #Jupiter #JUICE #ExploreFarther #DestinationJupiter #ESA
