Story

Dear Friends

In June 2024 my sons Tom, Alex and myself are gearing up and preparing to ride from London to Paris as part of the Cure Leukaemia ride to raise funds for this important charity that has helped our son so much.

Our story starts in September 2018 when Tom was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, 40 years ago this would have been the end for Tom but thanks to developments in the treatment of the disease he has now been cancer-free for 4 years and treatment free for 2.

To celebrate this triumph and to support others on a similar journey we are doing this cycle challenge with Cure Leukaemia and our goal is to raise  £4500 as a family, contributing to the essential research so there are more success stories like Toms.

2024 also marks a special milestone for Tom and Alex.  Tom will qualify as a Doctor in July, a testament to his determination and the support he has received.  Additionally, Alex will complete his degree in Sports science.

We need your support to help achieve our goal.

We invite you to donate to our JustGiving page.  Your generosity, no matter the amount will directly fund critical research bringing us a step closer to reaching a future where leukaemia is a conqurable challenge and families do not have to go through what we have been through.

Warm regards

Ian, Tom and Alex

Cure Leukaemia fund research nurses at 15 hospitals across the UK. These roles form the Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP) network giving patients, from a catchment area of 30m, access to potentially life-saving treatments through clinical trials, with plans to fund a paediatric network on the way.
