Run the 2024 London Marathon for a world free from meningitis and septicaemia.

Story

I am running the 2024 London Marathon because I want to help Meningitis Research Foundation achieve their goal of a world free from meningitis and septicaemia.

My younger brother, Luke, had meningitis when he was 4 1/2 months old which left him with significant side effects one of those being he is now profoundly deaf.

He has overcome many challenges throughout his life however, he has surpassed all our expectations after being told when he was 5 he would never be able to speak or communicate. After support from family and lots of Speech and Language support he has defied all the Doctors expectations and is able to effectively communicate without support from sign language. Even more impressive, he is now studying a Degree in Archaeology at the University of Nottingham and has excelled in everything he has set out to achieve.

I am beyond proud of everything he has overcome  and I will be running the marathon for my brother and to raise money for a wonderful cause.

Please support me with any donations big or small any donations are will make a difference!

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
