Story
On March 30th 2013, life as we knew it, changed forever. Our family was devastated by the tragic loss of a dearly beloved husband, father, son and brother. Simon passed away suddenly while out on a walk, from a total coronary occlusion. The cardiac consultant described him as a living, walking miracle, a 48 year old living with the aorta of a 7 year old. He packed so much into his short life including 22 years of service in the armed forces; that in itself was testament to his thirst for living life to the fullest. Our daughter Alexandra also has two heart conditions which are being regularly monitored. The British Heart Foundation is a charity close to our hearts for these reasons, not withstanding the fact that my mother in law was actively involved in BHF fundraising for over 15 years, doing this as a token of her appreciation for their contribution to research, and life changing surgery for Simon during his childhood. Thank you for supporting my TCS London Marathon journey with the British Heart Foundation. With your donations, we are raising money for one of the most exciting fields of research - regenerative medicine. We're aiming to fund breakthroughs and find cutting edge new treatments for people living with heart disease. The race is on to heal hearts together.
