AdventurHER: Travel tales of inspiring women 

Did you know that only 21% of travel-TV shows available to stream on the two biggest UK TV channels feature a female presenter?  

Our recent research shows that 62% of women agree seeing more people like themselves within travel TV shows would give them more confidence to embrace their own travel goals. 

So move over, Bear Grylls. We're sharing their stories instead. AdventurHER is a free pop-up exhibition in London that brings you the tales of inspiring, adventurous women you might not see on TV. Join us for three days only and get to know Louise Minchin, Amira Patel, Kwesia, Alice Morrison and others. Among them you'll meet transatlantic rowers, marathon runners, river trekkers, community builders and more.

Join us for a showcase of 11 female adventurers from across the world.

    • Friday & Saturday: 10 am to 6 pm

Meet a few of our AdventurHERs 

Get to know just a few of the 11 inspiring adventurers featured at our exhibition in London: 

Alice Morrison

Alice Morrison is an adventurer and explorer who has travelled to the earth's furthest reaches, taking on physically demanding and ambitious challenges along the way.

From running the toughest footrace on earth, Marathon Des Sables, to being the first person to complete the Atlas to Atlantic Trek which involved hiking from the highest point in North Africa, Alice’s commitment to exploration and adventure knows no bounds. 

 

Amira Patel

Amira Patel is an expedition leader, adventurer and speaker who has founded the community The Wanderlust Women, the largest community for Muslim women wanting to explore the great outdoors, now with over 18,000 followers.  

During lockdown Amira saw what was missing in the world, a space for Muslim women to connect and enjoy the outdoors. This realisation inspired her to create a community that represents women like her and led to the launch of The Wanderlust Women, a place where Muslim could feel they belong, heal and discover themselves.  

Amira is currently training to become a mountain leader and continues to be committed to championing diversity outdoors. 

 

 

Sophie Morgan

Authentic representation matters deeply to wheelchair user Sophie Morgan, who has spent her whole career fighting for it. Sophie was paralysed from the chest down in a car crash when she was eighteen years old and, ever since then, has pushed forward with redefining disability and challenging stereotypes. 

From presenting the Paralympic Games for Channel 4 to becoming a regular Loose Woman on ITV, making hard-hitting and award-winning documentaries around the World, to establishing a female and Disabled-led production company, 'Making Space Media' (in partnership with Reece Witherspoon's 'Hello Sunshine'), Sophie combines her talent on screen with her passion for making space for others and has been recognised as one of the top 10 most influential people in the UK.
