Call for chapters: Cases on Forensic and Criminological Science for Criminal Detection and Avoidance

The editors are inviting contributions of chapters that examine detection avoidance strategies used by offenders to evade justice and the current methods used by investigators to overcome such efforts. This volume is part of the acclaimed ‘Cases on’ Advances in Criminology Book Series with IGI-Global which applies case study approaches to deepen understandings of crime. We welcome international case studies on crime detection and offender avoidance strategies observed within real-world cases across a spectrum of disciplines.

We particularly welcome contributions from early career researchers and those returning to academia after a period of leave.

If you have an interest in contributing to this project, please send a brief abstract (500 words max) outlining the title for your chapter and an overview of the case study.



Objective

Objectives for Cases on Forensic and Criminological Science for Criminal Detection and Avoidance : This volume is part of the acclaimed ‘Cases on’ Advances in Criminology Book Series with IGI-Global which applies case study approaches to deepen understandings of crime. We welcome international case studies on crime detection and offender avoidance strategies observed within real-world cases across a spectrum of disciplines.

The book's objectives include raising awareness of research into forensic sciences, criminology, sociology and policing. Specifically, the book will focus on crime detection and offender avoidance strategies through a series of case studies.

This will include media depictions of forensic examinations, and some of the criminological, sociological and political debates surrounding forensics as a facet of modern crime detection.



Target Audience

Academics, forensics professionals, police and investigators, researchers, lecturers, students at graduate or post graduate levels, readers with an interest in investigations, Criminologists, Sociologists, Forensic Scientists, media and journalists. This book will also appeal to academic and public libraries, police academies and law enforcement training centres.

Submission Procedure

Full chapters are expected to be submitted by March 24, 2024, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Cases on Forensic and Criminological Science for Criminal Detection and Avoidance. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.
