Editor/Author Biographies

Liam James Leonard (BA, M.Phil, PhD), researcher and international academic is based at University of Winchester, UK, formerly at Arden University UK, Manchester UK, Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice, Northern Arizona University, also formerly with California State University, Los Angeles and is also an Associate Professor with West Virginia University, USA. Previously, Liam has been Chair of the Criminology Association of Ireland and former Members Secretary and President of the Sociology Association of Ireland. Dr. Leonard was the Senior Academic and primary instructor on the award winning Custodial Care Prison Studies Program, which trained approx. 1,000 recruits in a humane approach to prison work for the Irish Prison Service. He is the author/editor of over 25 books and numerous journal articles.
