Details

The Forensic Science Regulator sought informal comment on a draft of the core part of the single statutory code.

The single statutory code will replace the current codes of practice and conduct. It will have 3 main elements:

  • the core code that will be based on the current codes of practice and conduct
  • the definitions of forensic science activities
  • the guidance documents and appendices to the current codes of practice and conduct

The period to send comments has now closed.

The Regulator will use this informal feedback to refine the draft core code. The whole draft will be subject to formal consultation, in line with the Forensic Science Regulator Act 2021.
