Knight’s Salvation is book two in the Knights of Hell series by Sherilee Gray. I fell in love with the first book in this series, Knight’s Redemption. But as much as I loved it, I knew that I needed to read Zenon’s story and Sherilee thankfully chose his story to tell next. This book broke me apart and put me back together again, all in the span of the couple of days it took me to read this book!

Zenon is different than his brothers, the Knights of Hell. He was Hell born. Zenon was dark, gloomy, rarely spoke. His brothers kept their distance. He never allowed anyone to physically touch him. And he would frequently disappear for days at a time. Zenon has a deep, dark secret that only the angel Silas knows. On the day that his brother, Rocco was going to retrieve a new demi demon, Zenon knew that something was going to happen that day. He was drawn to wherever Rocco was going.

woman with long red hair

Unlike other new demi demons that the Knights had to bring in, Mia already knew what she was because her older sister was one also. Her sister had thought she could teach Mia everything she needed to know to survive in the world once her powers came into being. But Mia’s power was too strong. She couldn’t control it and she needed help. So she herself called the Knights to retrieve her so that they could train her to take care of herself. But as soon as the two Knights walked in, it was one of them that held her interest and everything else just faded away.

I WILL SEND YOU POSITIVE ENERGY EVERYDAY FOR A MONTH

Zenon feels a strange pull towards Mia, a strange protectiveness. Mia is everything good that Zenon can imagine, all rolled into one. But he is broken, cursed. He could never deserve a woman like her. So he uses anger to keep her away from him. Mia sees a beautiful man in Zenon, a man who has obviously suffered immeasurable pain in his past but a man whom she quickly realizes she wants in her future, in any way he’ll allow it.

yellow eyes

Mia and Zenon sort of push and pull with each other. Zenon knows he can’t have her but he can’t stand to see anyone else touch her. Mia recognizes that it is Zenon she wants. She sees a beautifully broken man when she looks at him. A man she is quickly realizing that she both wants and needs in her future.

At the same time, there are several unexplained attacks from demons. Someone is controlling them, staying hidden. Someone who is evil.

This book broke my heart. I don’t know if I have felt this much anguish for a character in a long time. But at the same time, I felt so much love and joy for these characters. Watching Zenon transform with Mia’s love was such a beautiful thing. The first time Zenon actually smiled, I felt my heart swell right out of my chest.

I didn’t know it would be possible to love this book even more than I did the first one but I did. Zenon was amazing and I won’t soon forget him. Mia was strong but also so soft. She was willing to fight for her man and fight she did. There are some new elements introduced in this book which I’m sure we’ll get more of in the future. I did miss more on the brother who left the Knights. I’m dying to know what is happening with him. Sherilee manages to surprise and amaze me with every new book she writes. I never know just what I am getting myself in to with each new book and I love it. Thank you again, Sherilee, for captivating me, for breaking my heart and for putting it all back together again. I can’t wait to see what you are going to do next!

Consider this reader pissed off. At herself and at the author.

I'm pissed at myself because I didnt do my homework. I read a review that said this book was safe when it in fact it was the complete opposite.

And now I'm pissed at this author for writing what made this book unsafe.

So lets start with the fact that the hero of the story has been raped over and over again by the main villainess of the story. Fine. If thats how you want to bring drama to this story then whatever. What I am not fine with is reading a very detailed scene of this at around the 40% mark and then the hero has to continuously go back to her until the 90% MARK OF THE DANG BOOK WHILE ALSO HAVING SEX FOR THE HEROINE WHILE TELLING HER NOTHING. Thankfully alot of this happens off page (small blessings) but it still really upsetting that the hero is having forced sex with another woman. Also the fact that the heroine sees evidence of the assault after it happens.

And another thing, I think ill always have issues with villains that are women who also are sadistic rapists in romance, and for some fucked up reason theres ALOT of them. It just feels... cheap and lazy? I don't know how to describe it properly without me coming off as an insensitive asshole. Yes, women can be rapists, but in this story it felt like it wasnt handled properly. Starting with the fact that none of the characters even say the word 'rape' even though thats exactly what it is. If youre going to have a rape of a character in your book then fucking say the word. Dont beat around the bush. I don't know.... I was really thrown off by the events in this book as it was extremely upsetting to read about.

The rest of my issues with this book - and with the series in general- is the complete lack of world building and the endless plot holes. Theres alot to be desired with the characters and their actions. It felt like the author kept making up new rules as she went.

I will not be continuing with this series, for now, as the next book will feature Brent the sex demon who parades an endless stream of women in front of his future h even though he has feelings for her. Fuck. That.

Another awesome cover! I love the use of black and white with that splash of blue and the guy with the wings is pretty cool too. This is the perfect cover for the story.

This is book 2 in the series but I think you could read this as a standalone. This is a new couple and a new foe to fight. You do get recurring characters from the first book that will be there for each book.

I knew after being introduced to Zenon in book one that his story was going to be heavy. As much as he isolated himself, you can't help but notice he was suffering from something from his past. I wasn't expecting to see that his pain wasn't just in the past but also still very much a part of his life.

I don't want to spoil things so I can't say much about Zenon's pain. His story is very heavy and could be triggers for some readers. It was very hard to watch Zenon long for his mate but know that he couldn't have her.

This is one of those mate resisting stories that I actually understood why the Hero resisted. I felt he had no choice and didn't see a way around it. I really didn't know how the author was going to fix things for him and Mia. I wasn't expecting that ending at all and while one evil door closed, it did open another.

I loved the glimpse into Rocco and his mate. It looks like he will not be resisting his mate and I can't wait to see that play out. I also love the addition of a new group of heroes in this and it's not what you would think. Let's just say that I love girl power! ARC provided by author.

Holy Wow! What a freaking amazing story! This author just set the bar to a height other PNR books will be struggling to reach.

We first meet Zenon in book 1 of this series and he was such a deep, dark character that I was certain he would be the last knight to have his story told. I was thrilled to learn this would be his tale.

The author grabbed this hero with both hands and molded him into such an amazing character that I’m certain I’ll never forget him. Despite his anger, his brute force and the complete coldness that we initially see in him, he is actually one of the most emotionally sensitive alpha heroes I’ve ever read. Not in a cry baby, love everyone, beta hero way but as someone who has had a complete absence of love, gentle touches, and light in their life would. Zenon recognizes what those around him have even as he yearns for and experiences the loss of it. My heart was literally shattered over all that he had endured and the continual theft of any chance of happiness and love for him.

While Mia wasn't as all-encompassing as Zenon, and she does make a decision that went south pretty fast, I actually liked her. I understood her reactions to Zenon’s words and felt her hurt from them despite knowing his thoughts. But the fact that once she got to know him she never gave up was what truly made me embrace her. She was fearless and held steady when he was anything but at times.

This is an action packed story with a good dose of angst. The chemistry between Mia and Zenon was sizzling even as it had to be denied, which made it so much more sizzlier. All the Knights are exceptional characters and I just want to gorge myself on their deliciousness. Fingers crossed they each get their own story.

I’m highly recommending this one if you like a hero as described above but that is also jealous, possessive and extremely protective.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

4.5 - "No one else but you..." Stars!

Sherilee Grey returns with the second book from her Knights of Hell series. Knight's Salvation gives us Zenon’s story, the character we learned the least about in the opening book of the series, is definitely more complex than first impressions would have you initially assume.

To pet the beast…

This is one of those stories where I don’t want to give too much away in relation to the bulk of the plot, reason being that Zenon is a character that you would do better getting to know as you read his story for yourself rather than have me give inadvertent spoilers.

Zenon was terrifying… But for some reason that fear didn’t stop her from being incredibly drawn to him…

I personally don’t think this will be a series that you can read out of order, and definitely not as standalones, because although the relationship between Zenon and Mia is the main focus of the book, there is a much bigger story arc developing with the Knights in general, as each individual meets and (hopefully) gets to mate with their respective women.

"I’ve done things that would give you nightmares…"

"…I don’t care."

Emotional, a little heart-breaking, but also addictive reading, I really enjoyed Knight's Salvation. This series, as is becoming the norm from this author is shaping into another really well-rounded reading experience, and I cannot wait for more.

"Hold tight… I’m about to give you the ride of your life."

I haven’t loved this series and had planned on pulling the plug, but then I read a few reviews on this one and was getting MAJOR Zsadist vibes… and I LOVE Lover Awakened, so I decided to give it a shot. I did like it more than the previous book and prequel, but I won’t be moving on. There’re several similarities between Zenon and Zsadist, … it even had hints of Acheron with him being required to … but it was just missing something and felt like a watered down version.

His reasons are different, but much of the plot is the same as the previous book , but this has more going on with the mistress/zombie demon subplot that kept it more exciting.

A big problem with this series is the lack of world building. PNR is pretend and readers need the author to create the world their story is taking place in, or we can’t imagine it. This is the 3rd book (if you count the prequel) and the first time we get anything concrete which is ridiculous.

The heavens discovered demons here on Earth, which was how demi-demons came to be. The angels couldn’t track the demons on their own, so six angels fell for the good of mankind and bred with the monsters they were trying to stop. The resulting offspring were the knights. With demon DNA the knights were able to track and rescue the demi and control the demon hordes invading Earth.

And I guess the fallen angels were all female that mated with male demons, but Zenon was born in hell. His mother was a demon, and his father is an unknown fallen male.

Bottom Line- Better, but I’m calling it. The next one doesn’t appeal to me at all, and I’m not willing to pay for the others. There’s potential there, I just feel like the characters and world aren’t developed enough for me to become engrossed or even care about them. It’s all very surface-y… like, IMO, it was a HUGE missed opportunity to not explore or even acknowledge the importance of The ending is rushed with most of the action/getting together squished into the last 10%.

I cried.

I can count on one hand the number of books that have made me cry. And damn...

I cried.

The moment Zenon was introduced in Knight's Redemption, Book 1 of the Knights of Hell series, I knew his story would tear me to pieces. And I wasn't wrong. And yet, I still wasn't prepared for this tortured knight who radiated anger and distanced himself from his brother warriors, and hated to be touched.

From the first moment Zenon met Mia, the demi-demon he's sent to retrieve, he struggled with the fear, protectiveness and need that warred within him. Scarred and seen as the bogeyman of the knights, the scent of her fear both reviles and pains him. She's by far not the first demi he's met, but none have ever made him feel so much. That makes her a threat and a compulsion. And yet, he can't stop thinking about her. He can't stay away from her. For Mia, her one purpose in seeking out the knights, is to learn how to control her power and strengthen her shields so she can finally get the fresh start in life she craves with her sister in a new city. Yes, Zenon terrifies her with his permanent scowl, tattoos and the menace that seems to pour off him. And yet, he also fascinates her, and that fascination, as well as the need to seek him out, to touch him, to be in his presence soon trump the fear. But Zenon sees himself as a rabid, tainted and scarred animal unworthy of her. And then there are his secrets--secrets he keeps from her and his brothers--and very real threats that prevent him from ever acknowledging his growing attachment and emotions toward her, much less claim her as his. No matter how much he craves doing just that. And all of this is occurring in the middle of an ever-present battle to keep Hell from overtaking earth--literally. More and more mysterious demon attacks on humans and the knights are slowly but steadily leading them toward a showdown with evil.

I started Knight's Salvation last night and finished it about five minutes ago. I only put it down to sleep. I loved Knight's Redemption, book 1. And because Sherilee Gray is an amazing author, I fully expected Knight's Salvation to be just as good. But somehow, she raised the bar. This book was even better than the first. And I think it's because of Zenon and how Sherilee Gray dives into his utter brokenness and shame over his past and present. Some scenes I had to put down my Kindle so I could breathe through them, because I wanted to just cry in pain for him. And then there was Mia. His light--in so many ways. Not going to say too much to avoid spoilers, but I will say, she is his salvation. How she saw beneath the fearsome surface to the hurting, scared and vulnerable man below and loved him so unconditionally and beautifully--it was wonderful to read. And the woman wasn't a door mat. She was strong in power and spirit. Then there were the twists that I didn't see coming. At. All. My mouth hung open a few times at the end, and I can't wait to see how the emergence of new revelations and characters will play out in future books! I'm so excited about the possibilities.

So yes, I loved Knight's Salvation, and Zenon and Mia will be two characters who stay with me for a long time. Because as I mentioned at the beginning of this... I cried.

Now off to stalk Sherilee Gray about book 3...

Knight’s Salvation is the story you didn’t realise you needed! This book is phenomenal and filled with so much emotional angst because of the life Zenon has led up until the moment he meets his mate, Mia.

Zenon is different to the other knights, he was born in Hell and sides more with his demon than his angel half. But one morning he wakes up and senses something in the air. Not realising what it is until his brothers find out and inform him that Mia is his mate. He fights it with everything he has, not because he doesn’t want her, but because he has a secret that could destroy them both!

Loved this story with my whole heart and as I get to know the characters more, I’m falling in love with them too😍 Can’t wait to see who is next in this series....I’m hoping for Chaos as that will be an epic tale much like Zenon’s is❣️

Thank you to Sherilee for another amazing story and for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review. A story and series not to be missed!

Very similar to J.R. Ward’s character of Zsadist (black dagger brotherhood #3)
Easier to follow book 2 since there was more context.

Knight's Salvation was another winner in the Knights series as Sherilee Gray once again gave us a sexy and intense alpha hero and a sassy and strong demi-demon who was his match in every way. This story was so addicting and intense with a dose of sexy that this author is known for. Now I am even more obsessed with these Knights and their future stories.

I thought this story was fantastic as once again this author delivered a tortured alpha Knight, Zenon, who found his mate, Mia, but who could not fully commit to his fated demi-demon due to a past and present he is chained to. But through Mia he finds the courage to fight those bonds that are chaining him to Hell and his old life.

Gah! This book was so good. It was edgy, sexy and also very emotional. I enjoyed it so much and can't wait for more! (Hello I need Chaos' book!) Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

Zenon grabbed my interest in the first book and I was so happy to learn more about him. This is such creative world building around this group of half demons protecting the earth. I would recommend reading the first book just to further your understanding of what is happening here.

I really enjoyed Mia. What a strong heroine to be willing to stand up to and fight for Zenon. She is the perfect match for him in more ways than one. Lots of little secrets continue to be revealed about this group and where they come from. Looking forward to seeing what happens with the next couple.

Great story!

Knight's Salvation was an engaging and interesting read that was twisty and action packed. I enjoyed this one a lot more than I did the first. This installment is about Zenon, the tortured and unsociable knight and his mate Mia. They endure a lot through the course of the story, him because of his past and her, not only because she's mated to him but also because of her own stuff. I enjoyed their journey and look forward to the next book in the series especially after what was revealed in terms of the main story arc.

Beauty and the Beast meets its dark, twisted, and steamy counterpart. Zenon kept everyone at arms length and did not feel like he belonged among his other brothers. Being born in Hell and part of slavery you lose hope and just want your life to end because the misery, pain, and cold are too much. However, here comes Mia with her demi-demon gift of fire based who also breathed life into Zenon and what it means to live. She also accepted Zenon as who he was and his demon like wings that are not like his brothers'. I think every knight learns that there is more in fighting this war against Hell and Diemos. This series also has a few steamy and hot and heavy scenes, which is a new type of paranormal romance for me.

Really enjoying this series so far. These books keep getting better and better. I love how the author brings all the knight's into the book and not just the two main characters. Zenon and Mia's story was a bit better than the previous book. Broken Hero... Lonely Heroine. I think Chaos is my favorite and I cant wait to read his book. There were a couple of parts where Mia irritated me with the things she did but enjoyed how the story played out. Onto the next one :D

Zenon fascinated me when I read the first book. I never thought we'd get his story so soon but it looks like his arc is part of the the larger plot. Mia seems like a timid payday car at first but has the soul of a lioness.

I'm really looking forward to Chaos' book not because he's got my bells ringing now.

•••••••••

REVIEW: KNIGHT’S SALVATION is the second instalment in Sherilee Gray’s contemporary, adult KNIGHTS OF HELL erotic, paranormal romance series focusing on a group of demon hunters known as the Knights of Hell, warriors whose birth was ordained by the mating of angels and demons. These ‘Knights’ hunt the demons who make life a living h*ll on earth for everyone involved. This is demon hunter Zenon, and demi-demon Mia Westbrook’s story line. KNIGHT’S SALVATION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

WARNING: KNIGHT’S SALVATION may contain triggers for more sensitive readers due to the nature of the story line content.

Told from several third person points of view including Zenon and Mia KNIGHT’S SALVATION follows demon hunter Zenon as he struggles with his attraction to demi-demon Mia Westbrook. Mia knows she is a half-human, half-demon hybrid; and with it comes immense power that is oft-times unstable, without the ability to control. Knowing she is expected to live and train with the Knights of Hell, Mia is shocked when her attraction to demon hunter Zenon causes all kinds of problems for our story line hero. What ensues is the acrimonious relationship between Mia and Zenon, and the potential fall-out as Zenon’s time on earth has an end date when Zenon is forced back into hell.

Zenon is unlike the other hunters. Our hero is a hell-born demon hunter; more demon than angel, and thusly his life is all about chaos, power and control. Broken and scarred, Zenon struggles with his attraction to Mia, a woman he knows to be his fated mate. With needs beyond that which he can control, Zenon is willing to sacrifice himself to save the woman with whom he is falling in love. Mia Westbrook has always known she is the product of a human and demon mating but her powers are growing beyond that which she is able to control, powers that attract the pure-bred demons. Hoping to live a life as normal as possible, Mia battles her attraction to, and hatred for the man that continues to break her heart.

The relationship between Zenon and Mia is contemptuous at best. Zenon refuses to accept Mia as his mate but he is unwilling to let go knowing his beast is but a heartbeat from breaking free and destroying it all. The push and pull, back and forth, up and down of Zenon’s emotions is overwhelming and constant. Ashamed and humiliated about his life and what he must endure, Zenon continues to push Mia at every encounter. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including the reappearance of Lazarus and Eve (Knight’s Redemption #1), Knights of Hell leader Chaos, James, Gunner, Kryos and his mate Meredith, and Rocco; as well as Silas-the angel who trains and watches over the Knights. The requisite evil has many faces.

KNIGHT’S SALVATION is a story of heartbreak, endurance, struggle and pain. The premise is engaging, emotional and disturbing; the characters are colorful, dynamic and dangerous; the romance is hot and heavy. KNIGHT’S SALVATION is also a familiar story line in that the male lead, and the struggles he has had to, and continues to endure are intensely recognizable and similar to another author’s well-known, broken, vampire warrior hero. From the name similarities (Z), same physical attributes and manifestations, tattoos and scars, to the background history and suffering, Zenon’s resemblance to said broken vampire are too numerous to ignore.

4.5 demon stars. I really wanted to read Zenon’s story and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s tragic and full of anguish but hopeful too. I didn’t expect the big plot twist, and considering how much I read, that says a lot right there. Can’t wait to read more.

Mia has always know what she was, which is rare of a demi-demon. But now that she has come into her powers she is need of help from the Knights of Hell, protectors for her kind. When they step in to help her control her powers, Mia is hopeful that now she can finally get her life started and move on to be with her sister.

But with one look at the scared, tattooed man, with his long hair shielding pain filled yellow eyes and the anger rolling through ever inch of his strong and powerful body. Mia is not as ready to speed through her training and leave. For ever time she tries to get close to Zenon, and he pushes her away the stronger the urge to hold this wounded solider is.

Zenon may have escaped hell. But he still lives in it. His whole life is a dark shadow that never lets go. Pain, hate and loathing surrounded him every day. The other Knights know not to ask questions of his past, touch him or get too close. He has to many secrets, a weakness that he can never let anyone else see. But when Mia, with her flowing red hair, soft curves and all around gentleness is brought into his life, Zenon starts to feel emotions he has never had.

But Zenon knows he can't get close, he vows to never taint her beauty with the ugliness that follows him. The more she tries to touch him, or the closer she wishes to get, the more he has to fight himself and his demon from getting too close. No mater how much he wishes he could be everything she wants and needs. He knows his future could never be entwined with hers.

Oh wow, so many times while reading Knights Salvation, I wanted to cry for Zenon. This beautiful broken man stole my heart and made me want to hold him. I teared up for Zenon, for Zenon and Mia and all that was keeping them apart. And hoped for their chance, their love, their future.

Mia was such a great character, she's so easy to love. Sweet and innocent. But strong and fierce. All the fight and love she has in her for Zenon and all the things she wishes to experience is beautiful. Zenon is a character I knew had a dark past, and with his stand off attitude, I thought I knew what kind of character he was. But oh man was I wrong. He was such a complex and intense character to dive into. So strong and at times shy, this sweet man laid buried under all the torment and pain of a life that wasn't his own. To see him fight to free himself and to be the man he wanted for Mia, with her help, the help of his brothers and above all himself, was sad and painful, but a beautiful journey to read.

Beautiful, sexy, intense, fun and action packed, Knights Salvation was a fantastic book. The Knights Of Hell Series is such an intriguing paranormal world that I find myself loving to get lost in more and more.

I already have so much love for all these characters, I want so much more from The Knights, these brothers and the strong women who stand with them. I love the relationships forming, the bonds of the men, their fearlessness, vulnerable sides, all the passion, heat and yes romance that surrounded these books.

Oh my gosh! These books might very well be the end of me. So much drama, angst and heartache. It was almost more than I could take. As sad as I found the situation Lazarus was in when he met his mate Eve, it was nothing compared to what Zenon had to go through with Mia. These two had SO much to overcome!

Thanks to help from her sister Chaya, and having known beforehand that she is a demi-god, Mia is much more prepared to deal with her new reality as opposed to Eve and others. Still, it is quite an adjustment for her once she reaches the compound, especially because of the attraction she feels toward Zenon, and the slew of mixed signals that she receives from him.

As usual in these types of books, and so far in this series, good (or any!) communication between the two main characters would have solved about 90% of their problems. But then we would have been deprived of all the wonderous glory of this story.

Additionally, once again, neither of our protagonists felt worthy of each other or of any good thing that happened to them. I guess it should be comforting to know that even demon hunters and demi-gods have insecurities just like the rest of us!

Because this was the second book in the series, there was a lot less world-building that needed to be done, just some additional information provided and areas filled in. This seemed to provide more leeway for the actual narrative to occur.

There is one main story about Zenon contained in these pages, involving an entirely new figure (whom I absolutely hate, but in order to avoid spoilers will not name). There are also a couple of other people introduced who provide plot twists that I also do not want to reveal. But suffice it to say that a fascinating one comes to act as a savior for Mia, and the other appears to perhaps be of some signifigance to Chaos. Additionally, there are different subplots involving other people and various situations that are occuring alongside Zenon's main area of focus. Some of these are a continuation from the prior volume, and a few branch out into new territory. I didn't quite follow all of them, but I expect we'll continue to learn more as the series progresses.

It was fun to see characters from the last book again, and I look forward to seeing more of all of them in future installments.

The relationship that develops between Zenon and Mia, despite all the odds stacked against them, is amazing to behold, and I was entirely thrilled that (other than all of the outside drama that is also going on) they were FINALLY able to achieve their happily-ever-after (or at least their happily-for-now).

4 “I just want to give Zenon a hug” Stars

Holy-effing-crap! Is the plot thickening or what???

After being completely drawn into the story of the Knights of Hell series with Knight’s Redemption, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Knight’s Salvation.

When I realized it was Zenon’s story, I knew we were going to get one heck of a tortured hero. Even though I was prepared for it to be rough, it damn well broke my heart time and again. So, for all those readers who love a tormented soul as the main character, you don’t want to miss this one.

Mia is not only different from humans, as she is a demi-demon, but she is special in that world too. She had been waiting for the moment her powers would kick in, but nothing prepared her for the Knight that would turn her world upside down.
Mia was shy and quiet, having spent all her life not really living it. Being inexperienced made her a bit too cautious at times, but I really liked how she handled Zenon’s whole attitude towards her.

To say Zenon had a rough start in life is putting it lightly, and I’d advise those who don’t tolerate there being darker aspects in their stories, maybe abstain from this one.

Zenon and Mia’s attraction was undeniable, and it warmed my heart when Zenon could let his walls down and enjoy being with Mia. They were the cutest most adorable pair.

With lots of action, suspense and sexy hot shenanigans, the story arc keeps unraveling and becoming more intriguing with some really unexpected twists and revelations thrown in at the end. Knight’s Salvation is by no means an easy story to read, but totally worth the wrenching of one’s guts in the end and I can’t wait to see what is coming next!

Love this series

I’m rereading the entire series in order this time. It seems like every series has a character like Zen. You kinda have it figured out before the end of the book because this particular story is not the same as other series but similar. It’s the type of book that has mother’s heart breaking and wish they could’ve saved the child. At the same time reading some of the things make you want to put the book down but at the same time keep reading because it’s that good. I give the author credit she didn’t go into too much detail in the back story which I appreciate. I’ve read books where there was so much detail I was so sick and in pain reading it. It left me feeling dirty in non fun ways. The story is wonderful and I’m glad I reread it even though it was hard. I’ve recommended this series to many friends and they’ve equally enjoyed each one and eagerly await the next books.

Unlike the other knights, Zenon actually lived in Hell until he managed to escape. Struggling with numerous secrets, he pushed everyone away, always remaining on the outside. Until he meets Mia and can't seem to stay away from her. Mia has always known she was a demi and has been waiting to come into her powers so that she can begin living her life without worrying about having to abandon it later. She's been expecting to train with the knights. She just hadn't expected to be so drawn to Zenon.

After picking up book one when it was free, I got hooked and bought this story. Zenon was one of my favourite nights from book one, so I enjoyed reading about him. He's just so snarly and difficult, and I loved him. Lots of steam, lots of sweetness, and plenty of danger. I loved this book.

Loved! Consumed in one day. Adore the world created, the Knights are hard, tough, sexy.

Zenon is a knight, he separates himself from his brothers in arms thinking he isn't enough. His past haunts him and he's trapped by his old mistress.

Mia has known she was a demi demon since she was 11, so being thrust into training at the knights compound isn't a surprise.

Neither were prepared for the pull they felt for the other, Zenon is broken, Mia has kept relationships at arms length.
They are magic together. I loved their story

3 1/2 STARS!!!
I enjoyed Zenon and Mia's story a little more than I did the first book only because I felt as if this story moved at a better place, and it wasn't as repetitive as the previous book. This story had mystery, suspense, steamy scenes, secrets were revealed and more. It gives Zenon and Mia a happy mating ending, and I will be reading the next book in this series as I already have the third book. I enjoyed this book more than the first but I'm not sure if I would read this story more than once.

A

Good read, nice addition to the series. Zenon was a very complex hero. Plenty of hard and bad, but his soft was really soft, just a tad too much for my personal tastes, but I'm sure others loved it. Really, most of his hardness was resistance and a front for his shame. Mia was well done. Easily believable for a character who feels the need to "pet the beast" even after rejection.

Very dark and definitely not for everyone, but I liked it, although I wasn't happy with everything. Especially the hero's actions and non-communication were frustrating or the heroines stupidity in the end!

Trigger warning

Better than the first book. However, this will be the last book in the series I’ll read.

The rape scenes were too descriptive - and yes , a man can be rapped by a woman- what Helena did to Zenon was RAPE.

I loved this heroine, but the hero definitely left something to be desired. Punching a glass wall behind the heroines head because what she said pissed him off? Huge domestic violence red flag.

The book had angst and good dialogue, I’ll give the author that much.
