Mireille Cohendy

Mireille Cohendy (b. 1953) lived in the Netherlands for a long time, before returning to her native France in 2007. After teaching for many years, she made a switch to translation. Over the years she has translated over 20 books, including works by Carl Friedman, Harry Mulisch, Rob Riemen and Jan Brokken. She also translated a number of children’s and young adult books, including titles by Peter van Gestel and Benny Lindelauf. For her translation 'Une heure avant minuit' (Een dwaze maagd) by Ida Simons, she received the Prix des Phares du Nord in 2018.
