Irina Anton

Irina Anton (b. 1985) graduated from the University of Bucharest with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Dutch Philology in 2008. To further improve her language skills, she took her master’s degree in Dutch culture at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Since 2010, Anton has been employed in the IT industry, working mainly with Dutch and Flemish customers.

Besides that, she is also a translator. Her first literary translation was a short story by Simon Carmiggelt that was published in the literary magazine ‘România literară’ in 2012. She followed this with Dimitri Verhulst’s ‘Tour de France’ (De Helaasheid der Dingen) and a fragment from Peter Terrin’s The Guard (De bewaker).
