ELSA workshop on generative AI and creative arts

Introduction

The European Lighthouse on Secure and Safe AI (ELSA) is a centre of excellence. They aim to make Europe a global beacon of AI safety by promoting the development and deployment of cutting-edge AI solutions. The centre also connects top experts in AI and machine learning from 26 European research institutions including The Alan Turing Institute, where the project sits within the AI programme. 

Research work is divided into several ‘work packages’ with the Turing currently working on the ‘Human agency and oversight’ (work package three), together with Lancaster University and the University of Birmingham. The workshop is aimed at discussing generative AI and copyright and will showcase research achievements.

About the event

A panel of top experts and researchers led by Dr Adrian Weller and Dr Umang Bhatt will discuss the transformative impact of generated AI content on the creative arts and their legal implications. This will be followed by a showcase and networking session, to communicate the project team's insights and research advancements to the broader public.
