About this event

The rising cost of living is affecting everybody in the city in different ways. We want to support those most impacted; people who have been making difficult choices for some time as a result of financial hardship, as well as those facing financial difficulties for the first time.

The Welfare Rights and Debt Advice Service has worked with people experiencing financial worries for many years. To support the city’s response to the current cost of living pressures, we will be delivering a series of 90-minute skills sessions for practitioners and volunteers from the Council, NHS and Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations aiming to increase confidence to talk about money and offer help.

The sessions will focus on:

• Understanding how current cost of living issues are contributing to financial hardship using real life examples

• Tips on when and how to have effective and non-stigmatising conversations about money

• Active signposting and how to identify when to make a referral to services for advice and support

Please note that this event will be held online.
