About this event

The UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS) and the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) have recently launched a five-day Statistical Leadership Programme, as well as a Women into Leadership version. This one-day taster will introduce delegates to some of the concepts explored on the full programme and will include sessions on teamwork, change, culture and strategy. It will encourage the delegates to think about the skills they will need to lead their organisations towards statistical modernisation and to deal effectively with the range of challenges faced by statistical organisations in Africa.

The day will include a session with Robert Bumpstead, ONS Chief of Staff, who will speak about his leadership journey and what makes a good statistical leader.

This course is open to middle managers and future leaders who have not already attended the full programme. We will send a pre-course survey to you before the event and your response will help to ensure that we can tailor the content of the course to the needs of the participants.

There is no charge for attendance and we will provide lunch but you will need to arrange your own travel and accommodation. There are limited spaces on the course so please only sign up if you are making a firm commitment to attend. We anticipate a high demand for spaces so please notify us of any change in your plans as soon as possible so that we can make this opportunity available to others.
