Overview of programme

Future Leaders is a unique professional development programme designed to help individuals excel as managers and leaders. Covering a range of topics over three months, the programme will leave you with the awareness, understanding and skill needed to develop and lead a high calibre team.

Overview of sessions

PART ONE: SELF GROWTH - 1st March (9am-12pm)

Self-awareness is essential in leadership as it helps you understand what you bring to your role. In this session you will discover what makes you who you are, when you come to work. You will explore your own personality style, motivators and strengths and the impact these have on you and those around you. You will also *explore* the thoughts and beliefs that can hold you back from achieving you goals and learn how manage these so you create a growth mindset.

PART TWO: TEAM SUCCESS - 23rd March (9am-12pm)

This session will explore how to take your team from good to great. Your own leadership style plays a big part so you will learn more about situational leadership and how adaptability will be the key to your success. You will also leave feeling confident to handle difficult conversations with your team so that you are able to nip problems in the bud before they grow out of control.

PART THREE: POWERFUL RELATIONSHIPS - 27th April (9am-12pm)

Strong relationships are the key to a positive workplace culture, and strong relationships are the result of quality conversations. This session will focus on how to adapt your communication style to improve every single interaction you have at work – whether you are sat around the board table or talking to your team. You will learn about tone, body language, influencing and power, discovering how to have impactful conversations and build sustainable relationships.

Who is it aimed at…

Rising stars who the business sees as a future leader or director, or someone that will have increasing leadership/management responsibility as the business grows. Businesses are ideally SMEs, and the individual chosen will already manage at least one individual within the team (or about to take on a role in which they will manage people).

To get the most from this programme, participants are expected to attend all three sessions. This will ensure you build a strong peer network, having gone through the course together, and that you get the most value from our facilitator's experience. If you can't make all of the dates, but are interested in the subject, please register on our waitlist and we'll let you know if we're running another cohort later next year.

Facilitator bio

The programme will be delivered by Hannah Johnson, founder and director of Xcel Business Psychology. Hannah is an expert in self-development at work, having trained, mentored, and coached thousands of managers and business leaders. Hannah provides insights from the world of psychology to support organisations to grow, through their people. She has trained teams in Parliament, delivered projects for the European Commission and even been interviewed on BBC Breakfast. However, her day to day sees her working with growing, ambitious SMEs who see the value of investing in their people.
