About this event

Parent carer focus group with the Council for Disabled Children about Preparation for Adulthood in South Gloucestershire

About this event

The Council for Disabled Children are undertaking a programme of independent scrutiny for the South Gloucestershire Children’s Partnership. We are reviewing the Preparation for Adulthood pathway for children and young people who have a special educational need or disability (SEND) in South Gloucestershire, looking at its effectiveness and impact on young people, their families, carers, and professionals.

At the end of the independent scrutiny process, the Council for Disabled Children will produce a report and recommendations for the South Gloucestershire Children Partnership to improve the experience of preparation to adulthood for children, young people, parents and carers.

As part of this programme of work, the Council for Disabled Children invite you to take part in a focus group for parent/carers of children and young adults who have experience of the Preparation for Adulthood pathway on Tuesday 31st January, 10am-11am, on Microsoft Teams.

This focus group is part of a suite of information gathering approaches we will be using to gather your feedback. We are particularly interested to hear your views about your current experiences of Preparation for Adulthood services and support in South Gloucestershire, including what is working well and what could be better.

Joining details will be sent closer to the date.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about the independent scrutiny process, please email Georgia Macqueen Black, Social Care Programme Manager at the Council for Disabled Children, at GMacqueenBlack@ncb.org.uk.
