About this event

The annual CLSIG/SLA Europe/BIALL careers day has had an update for 2020/21 to an online event across two consecutive evenings.

It offers insights into working as a librarian or information professional in sectors such as law, accountancy, and other areas of commercial business, as well as roles involving scientific information. We aim for attendees to get a sense of the type of work that our areas of the profession do, and what skills/experience are needed to get those roles.

16 Feb - Confirmed speakers from specialist health and legal settings: Hong-Anh Nguyen, Information Centre Manager at The King's Fund; Katie Treherne, Outreach Librarian at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust; and, Robert Turner, Senior Information Officer at Bristows LLP.

17 Feb - The following day, Matt Walsh, Head of Knowledge Management at UK National Audit Office, offers an insight into knowledge management work, followed by an advice session from recruiters CB Resourcing passing on tips for getting that desired job!

A ticket for either evening allows access to both day's events. You do not need to register for both.

We are pleased to be able to offer ten free places to anyone from groups that are underrepresented in the UK library and information profession. To apply please email alex@clsig.org.uk by 15th Feb 2021 to request a free place.
