I have been fighting for the people of Brent Central as your MP since being elected in 2015. My office has dealt with over 25,000 constituents’ queries and problems, and I’ve taken issues important to the people of this area right to the top – as with the Pre-Pay Rip-off campaign that has helped save money every day for families using pre-pay meters. I was also thrilled to be voted Labour MP of the Year by the Patchwork Foundation this year and DIVA magazine “Ally of the Year”. This was in recognition of my work to make Parliament accessible to all, because I truly believe that Parliament is there to represent the people of this country and should be working in the interests of the many, not the few.
