Aaron Rodgers has said the 24 hours following his Achilles injury one of the toughest throughout his life, but has refused to give up hope on a spectacular return - perhaps even one this season.

He joined The Pat McAfee Show in his first media appearance since pre-Monday Night Football.

'There's been some guys with some interesting timetables on Achilles returns,' Rodgers said regarding his timetable.

When pressed as to whether he was somehow targeting a comeback for the 2023 NFL season, Rodgers said; 'I'm not going to take any of those statements, I don't think that's fair to myself.'

But when asked by former Packers teammate, if it's a possibility, he replied; 'I think as Kevin Garnett said, anything is possible.'

While the Jets starter was in a determined mood Friday, that was far from his reality on Monday night.

'Monday was an amazing day to start,' Rodgers told McAfee. 'Amazing night running on the field with the flag it was electric. And then it turned into one of the toughest 24-hour stretches I've had in my life.

'Lot of sadness, a lot of tears, a lot of dark frustration and angel - all the gamut of emotions but then the sun rose the next day. I found myself in L.A. and had surgery Wednesday and since then I've been feeling better.'

Rodgers detailed that he knew right away what had occurred to him on the fourth snap and put to bed any doubt that he's coming back to the Jets, or at full capacity. Instead, he is intent on doing so with a vengeance.

'What I'd like to say is, give me the doubts. Give me the doubts, give me the timetables. Give me all the things you think can, should or will happen because all I need is that one little extra percent of inspiration, that's all I need.

'Give me your doubts, give me your prognostications and then watch what I do.'

Rodgers did admit his age made things a little more complex but naturally, rebuked suggestions he couldn't overcome what's in front of him.

'Just because somebody hasn't ever done it a certain way, doesn't mean it's not possible.

'I definitely have some odds stacked against me based on age. But, I like it. Stack all the odds up against me and see what happens.'

Rodgers thought of Kobe Bryant while sitting on the training table in the back of the Jets' locker room, and says his decision to have surgery less than 48 hours later was only so long due to 'flight logistics' getting out to the west coast.

The four-time NFL MVP also took the time to thank the 'astronomical amount' of people who reached out to him.

'That was a big help, honestly,' he told McAfee. 'I think I shed just as many tears about the support and the nice messages than just the sadness of what happened. So, big thanks to everyone.'

Rodgers has been researching unique methodologies to heal his Achilles and mentioned he is looking further into the concept that frequency created by dolphins when lovemaking can have healing properties for the human body.

He did confirm to McAfee that Ayahuasca will not be part of his rehabilitation program.

The 39-year-old admitted earlier this week he was 'completely heartbroken' after being ruled out for the season just four snaps into his New York career.

As Floyd sacked the four-time MVP, Rodgers' foot got caught in the artificial turf at MetLife Stadium and his Achilles snapped - requiring the QB to be helped off the field and then carted to the locker room.

Rodgers' injury sparked immediate speculation over whether the Jets would look to bring in another veteran quarterback to fill the hole left by the four-time MVP.

Instead, Jets coach Robert Saleh has made it clear that the team is putting its faith in backup, and 2021 No. 2 overall pick, Zach Wilson as the starting quarterback.
