Ollie Watkins looks GUTTED as Aston Villa secure Champions League football for next season

This is the moment that Aston Villa secured Champions League football for the first time ever after Tottenham's defeat by Man City (right) confirmed their fourth-place finish - with the result sparking wild scenes of celebration and joy. As the full-time whistle blew at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Villa's suited-and-booted players and staff rejoiced following what is a monumental achievement. But not everyone was in the party mood at the club's end-of-season awards dinner. As the champagne flowed and hugs were being shared, Ollie Watkins (circled) appeared to look glum as he sat in his seat while Unai Emery (main picture, right) and Co threw their hands into the air in sheer delight.

OLIVER HOLT AT THE TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM: The bird of night did not sit in the market place at Seven Sisters at noon, hooting and shrieking, nor did lions prowl the streets of our capital city, but there have, nevertheless, been strange disturbances in the natural order in the last 24 hours. Perry Groves, a former Arsenal star and scourge of their north London rivals, made plans to wear a Tottenham shirt for the first time. Jamie O'Hara, a former Spurs player, said he would be supporting Spurs' opposition Manchester City.

Ange Postecoglou's public attack on Tottenham's 'fragile foundations' is cause for concern

Ange Postecoglou, clearly frustrated at his side's defeat to Manchester City, sat facing the press after a bitter defeat - and gave it 'laldy' in a way that only Big Ange could. No shouting, no sarcastic insidiousness, rather, a metaphorical shaking of the head and a sense of despair at the state of the nation in the land of Tottenham Hotspur. A tone akin to the sad resignation of a teacher who has put a pupil twice on the naughty step, only to see them acting up again at the back of the class. Far from shirking from the reality of the defeat and how close his men came to denying Pep Guardiola's side a mammoth three points, the Aussie powerhouse threw down the gauntlet and laid bare his frustrations with the goings-on - both within and outwith the club.

The 58-year-old Tottenham boss believes the build-up to City's visit, the rivalry with Arsenal dominating thoughts around the club, has shone a light on the problems he faces as manager.

ISAAN KHAN: From the season's start, the Invincibles 20th anniversary has been looming on the mind of Arsenal; a significant milestone that lies in the shadows of a club vying for their own chapter of glory.
