Big Sean's long-awaited Detroit 2 project is "coming soon."

In celebration of his 32nd birthday, the G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam rapper gifted fans with an album trailer that included snippets of never-before-heard tracks as well as behind-the-scenes footage. We see Sean in his hometown of Detroit, hitting up recognizable locations and putting in work in the studio. Young Thug also makes a cameo at around the 1:30 mark, which pretty much confirms his involvement.

It’s my birthday n I feel too blessed, for my life, for love, for you! I love you!

"Detroit, to me, is home," he says at the top of the trailer. "But I feel like it's more than just a city, you know? ... It's a mentality."

The album is the sequel to Sean's 2012 mixtape, which included guest appearances by J. Cole, Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, and his once-rumored foe Kendrick Lamar. Sean addressed his relationship with K-Dot during a recent episode of Pull Up with Joe Budden.

"Me and Kendrick got a history...a relationship as peers. When this whole Big Sean, Kendrick beef was going on, it was something I wish I would have spoken up [on]," he explained. "I let this shit go. He let that shit go—he never talked about it. And I never talked about it and I should’ve said something, bro. I should’ve just came out and been like, ‘Naw, that ain’t it.’ … But I didn’t. I was working on this song with Nip and then Nip passed. I have a show for J. Cole's festival. I’m sitting next to Punch from TDE. He like, ‘Bro, wassup—you ever holler at Kendrick?’ I damn near [had] put it on the back burner in my brain. I’m like, ‘Damn, no I never did. And he’s like, ‘Man, you should definitely holler at him.’ Got his number and we communicated. The respect is mutual. It was literally nothing."

Earlier this month, Big Sean appeared on Hot Ones, to discuss everything from his upcoming project to his time working as a telemarketer to Coachella's postponement due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"I was definitely looking forward to Coachella being now. I was very excited for that, (but) I understand, you've gotta be safe," Sean said. "I've been wiping down my seats on my plane. I've been a germaphobe. I've been doing that before corona."
