Tackle Learning offers guidance and advice to parents of primary school children

Norwich City Community Sports Foundation have teamed up with Norfolk County Council’s Adult Learning Services to develop a new free education programme called Tackle Learning.

The programme, which is delivered online, offers guidance and advice to parents of primary school children, with an emphasis on how they can support their child’s learning.

The first module of the Tackle Learning programme, which is now available to complete here, focuses on the impending return to school.

“There has been so much attention in the media about the upcoming return to school and what it’ll look like, but very little focus around the role that parents can play in supporting their children in what is bound to be an anxious and traumatic time for them,” said Head of Curriculum at the Foundation, Stevie Bramble.

“This first module of Tackle Learning will help in filling that gap, and provide parents with some tools and thinking points that they can put into action.”

The content has been written by Adult Learning Service’s resident primary school teacher Simon Routhorn.

Stevie Bramble continued: “We have a fantastic relationship with the Council’s Adult Learning department having previously worked on a range of programmes together, most recently the FC Live programme which supports local grassroots football coaches with their continued development.

“By combining the expertise of Adult Learning Services staff, with the Foundation’s ability to engage with children and their families, we hope Tackle Learning will help thousands across the county.”

The first unit on ‘Returning to School’ can be completed here, and is completely free. It takes around 25 minutes to complete.
